What is better than a shake after a workout? Especially if that shake involves chocolate. And peanut butter.
I was so eager to make my first protein shake in a while. So after my kickboxing class – I went straight to Target to get some protein powder. Did I mention I drove there? Yep! I finally got my license! This means that I can finally go to the store whenever I want if I have a sudden urge to cook – like the tacos I made last night.
Anyways, I probably stood there in the store for a half an hour trying to decide what I wanted. I finally decided upon an organic whey protein powder – chocolate, of course – and rushed home to turn it into a shake. Knowing ahead of time that I would make this, I put a sliced banana in the freezer before I left so I would be able to make this Reese’s shake. I’ve learned to keep frozen bananas in the freezer for when I want a smoothie bowl or make a quick bowl of ice cream.
Now for the shake:
The shake racks up over 25 grams of protein and is quick to make after a grueling workout. If you don’t have a frozen banana on hand, just add more ice. You could even make the shake vegan by opting for a vegan protein powder – such as hemp or soy based. Peanut butter and chocolate has always been a winning combination, so why not put it together in a shake?
What I had before my workout: Overnight Oats.
